The Captain for a Day experience gives you the chance to learn the fundamentals of sailing in the best possible setting — on the Mediterranean, in Barcelona, with a professional skipper beside you. This isn't a lecture or a classroom course: it's a hands-on, on-the-water experience where you take the helm, learn to read the wind and the waves, and discover what it really means to be in command of a sailboat. Over 8 hours, our experienced skipper will teach you the basics of navigation, sail trimming, anchoring, and safety procedures in a relaxed, personalised style. By the end of the day, you'll have the confidence and the practical knowledge to take your first official sailing theory exam — or simply the satisfaction of knowing you sailed a boat across the Mediterranean. The experience is available for up to 4 people, making it ideal for couples or small groups who want to learn together.
Typical Itinerary

09:00 — Boarding at Port Olímpic. Introduction to the boat and safety equipment.

09:30 — Departure. First hands-on practice: steering, sail controls, and reading the wind.

11:30 — Anchoring techniques and man-overboard drill (with a buoy).

13:00 — Lunch break at anchor.

14:30 — Afternoon session: navigation basics, sail trimming, tacking and gybing. Return to port by 17:00.
